Jambul Hills Karang Asem - As the
name suggest the Jambul hills KarangAsem is known for its extremely beautiful scenery of
the green hills with the rolling terraced rice filed. The famous terraced rice filed
of Jambul hills has appeared in many traveling magazines as well as on
television program. The location of Jambul hills is not far from the Agung
mount, in the Karang Asem district. Tourists usually visit Jambul hills on their
way to the Pura Besakih that is located not far from the hills.

1. Accessing Jambul Hills
As I said before, Jambul Hills Karang Asem is located not far from Agung mount in Paseban village, Karang
Asem district. This district is about 51 kilometers far from Denpasar. To get
to Jambul hills, the journey will take about one to two hours, all depends on
the traffic on the road. Unfortunately, you cannot go to the hills using public
transportation since there are none. You can get to the hils by renting a car
or motorcycle or you ask your travel agent to arrange a trip there. If you
decide to go visit the Jambul hills, it is best if you start your journey early
in the morning, especially if you will continue your journey to Pura Besakih.
The hills will look especially stunning and quite in the morning and you will
not be bothered by the heat in the middle of the field.

2. Enjoying the View of
Jambul Hills
Since Jambul hills are located
on 500 meters above sea levels, the atmosphere here is quite cool compared to
the normal temperature in tropical countries like Indonesia. The natural
scenery presented at the hills is very beautiful and stunning, consists of the
rolling terraced rice fields and patches of local trees. You can also see the
stunning scenery of the seas from afar on the other side of the hills. You can
even see the Nusa Penida Islands at the south from the top of the hills. While
enjoying the view, you can also sit around in the small kiosks and vendors
selling drinks and snacks. If you prefer to eat a heavier meal there are also some
cafes and restaurants that you can visit at the top of the hills. The road
leading to the viewing place is also good and the parking lot is large enough
so that everyone can find their place and enjoy the view of Jambul Hills Karang Asem.
