The Tri Mandala

Bajra Sandhi Monument was made, created, and built to respect or appreciate the struggling of the Balinese people from time to time. It has a kind of rectangular shape with the tri Mandala which is like three parts of the building. The first one is called Utama Mandala. Like it is name, you can guess a little bit about it. It must be the main building which is located in the center of the area. It is exactly in the middle of the building.

The second is named Madya Mandala. As Madya also exists in Javanese language which means the center, the Madya Mandala represents the second circle or the middle part of Bajra Sandhi Monument. The Madya Mandala is not a building but it is a courtyard which surrounds the Utama Mandala. The last part is called Nista Mandala. It is the outer courtyard which surrounds the Madya Mandala.

Get Closer to the Utama Mandala

If you enter the building of Utama Mandala, it is separated into three floors:

Utamaning Utama Mandala

It is located on the highest floor, the third floor as the place of silence andtranquility. It is like a place to meditate or think peacefully with your mind whilst you are enjoying the scenery around the building and get the Bali’s panorama from this place. It is the best achievement and satisfactory after you walk and pass the long stairs to reach the place.

Madyaning Utama Mandala

In this floor, the second floor, as the middle part, you can see dioramas that have the story of Balinese people’s struggle started with the era of the Balinese kingdom, the starting point of the Hinduism come to Bali at first, the struggling moment of independence and everything happens until now.

Nistaning Utama Mandala

It is basic on the ground floor that has an information room, library, exhibit, conference, administrative rooms, and the restrooms also. By the way, you can look in the middle of the room, there is a lake called Puser Tasik.

Although Bajra Sandhi Monument is not a popular place, I think it's too bad if you just missed this destination. You still can something unique from this historical place, and the last you can see the new thing about another Baliness culture directly. Bali is not just a beach. This beautiful Island has so many interesting culture!
