Come For Bali Flora And Fauna Of The West Bali National Park

Have you visited the West Bali National Park? For you who like to go to Bali, it will be nonsense if you do not spend one day to go to the national park in the west of Bali. It is actually located on the north of the western side of Bali. It has enormous area which covers more than one hundred and eighty square kilometers which most of them is land and the remaining is for the sea. The West Bali National Park has approximately five percent of the total land area of Bali. It is a special place not only for the flora, fauna, and Balinese people but also for the country that made us proud to have it there.

West Bali National Park was built in 1995 under the Ministry of Forestry. And, this national park is one of the most important part of our ecosystem and also for the world’s preserving places.

How to get there?

You can drive there from Gilimanuk or Singaraja or you can start from Ketapang by using ferries.  If you look at the map, you simply can see the location of the West Bali National Park that is on the top left corner of Bali island.  So it is very near from the East Java.

The habitats

You can meet many habitats there. The several can be mentioned are a savanna, montane and mixed monsoon forest, mangroves, and coral islands. In the middle of the national park, you can see that there is an area that dominated by the offcuts of the volcanic mountains from era Pleistocene such as the Patas mountain with tis highest elevation on more than one thousand and four hundred meters or around four thousand and six hundred feet from the surface.

The animals

If seeing from the data, there are more than one hundred and fifty something species inside the park. They are from the birds species until the mammals. The animals’ samples are the banteng, deer, wild boar, dollarbird, leopard cat, long-tailed shrike, sacred kingfisher, savanna nightjar, water monitor, large flying fox, and many others.

The West Bali National Park several years ago have received some animals sent from Surabaya zoo and Taman Safari Indonesia. The animals that sent to the Bali National Park are meant to have better neighborhood.

The plants

For the floral, there are endangered too such as garcinia dulcis, manilkara kauki, santalum album, etc. most of the floral are left with its biological names rather than translated to bahasa Indonesia. It makes easier job for the guests not only see but learn the names of them.
